The Team

The Mission:

You won’t find a more versatile climber then Ueli Steck. From 5.14 redpoints to El Capitan free routes to record-setting speed-solo alpine binges, Steck has made a name for himself by excelling in every discipline of the sport. And now, after logging more than 1,200 hours of training over the last year, he’s turning his attention to the highest mountains on Earth.

Welcome to Himalayaspeed.com. In the coming months, we will chronicle Ueli’s 2011 expeditions: a six-month Himalayan odyssey that will take him from Nepal to Tibet to Pakistan. Join us for front-row seats to watch as one of the world’s elite mountain athletes struggles to take his personal limits – and the limits of the sport itself – to the next level.
